Why we started writing this down

When we started our IVF quest, it was not an exciting feeling. We were in over our heads and kinda felt like idiots. We did the Google and immediately got overwhelmed. We found lovely websites and beautiful guides from clinics explaining procedures, success rates, and numbers — that ultimately wanted our business. Reddit was great hearing about people’s experiences, but as we were just starting out, we had no clue what stims were, AMH numbers, follicles, etc. And forget it with the academic and medical sites. They were cold and very informational — usually overly informational.

Remember those yellow- and black-covered “For Dummies” books growing up? That! We just wanted a guide that walked us through the steps bit by bit. Talked to us like people, not patients, who could tell us about their own steps, who would just be honest about the money sitch.

So we decided to write it ourselves. We are looking through medical journals and studies to make sure our information is accurate. But also writing in a way that’s easy to understand. And we’re also keeping this journal of entries to share about our own journey. We’re still very much in the middle of it (that’s kind of the point), so if we haven’t written about anything, it’s because we haven’t dealt with that yet.

Thank you so much for tuning in. We hope this is helpful for you. Please feel free to reach out if you have questions or comments or just want to say hi. hello@thefrozenegg.com
